are offering some serious modification to existing Thor Audio components.
Through much experimentation with different internal parts and hours
upon hours of listening, we have elevated Thor's already outstanding
stock performance level to remarkable sonic heights.
Signal Capacitor Upgrade: The
work in this upgrade package consists of removing all existing Hovland
and MIT signal caps and replacing with exact value caps from our friend
Chris VenHaus at V-Cap... both "high voltage" OIMP
and CUTF
are used throughout. Upgrade prices are:

Wire
and Control Upgrade:
The work involved in this upgrade package consists of removing all existing
Discovery Cable (wired throughout) from each input/output and the stock
volume and balance controls. Perform a complete rewire using Mundorf
24 AWG Silver/Gold hook-up wire. Install new DACT
Stereo Volume and Balance controls. Mundorf Silver/Gold solder used
throughout. Prices are:

Amplifiers
are re-wired automatically with the Cap Upgrade. Additional:

Output
Transformer Upgrade:
Custom wound Electra-Print Copper (primary) and Silver (secondary) wound
output transformers for Thor Power Amplifiers. Truly awesome...

Anyone
considering such upgrades should know that we start with the power supply/section
to make sure the output voltage to the PCB is as close to perfect as
possible, adjust accordingly and then proceed with the replacement parts.
Each components board has the owners initials and the date of upgrade
written on it and a new 5 year warranty
takes effect immediately. Each component will be burned in here for
a weeks time before return.
If
upgrades are done one at a time, I recommend doing the Cap's first as
this is nothing short of remarkable and the improvements are clearly
audible through the stock wire and controls. Having all upgrades performed
will transform any existing Thor Audio component into something unlikely
to be beaten at any price, anytime or anywhere. Have preamps done before
amplifiers as this is where the signal passes first. Partner these components
up with Duevel Loudspeakers and 47 Labs front end gear and you will
be listening to sound and music you only dreamed possible! $200,000
+ will not buy you better... A bold statement I know and we will back
it up. If you're not thrilled with the improvements we make you have
30 days to change your mind and we will return your gear to original
stock form.
If
you are thrilled with your first upgrade and would like to upgrade more
of your Thor components you will receive a 10% discount on any future
component upgrades. For example... if you do the caps in your TA-1000
and then want to do the caps in your TPA-30's you will receive a 10%
discount on the TPA-30 upgrade.
